2008: NHRA/NOPI joined forces to run/operate the Former NHRA Sport Compact series. This plan tanked due to financial problems.
NHRA did not sell it's Professional racing assets, including 4 of it's drag strips to HD Partners Acquisition Corp. The plan for a public offering of common stock in the new corporation also tanked. Appears the proposed buyers could not find the funding.

Weissman vs SCAT Enterprises Class Action Settlement. Background: On November 2, 2004, a class action law suit was filed alleging SCAT Enterprises of advertising certain forged Crankshafts or forged H-Beam connecting rods as being "Made in U.S.A." The Class Representative claims that this advertising was false in violation of California's Unfair Competition Law. On April 2, 2007, a distribution was agreed on by SCAT and Rosenthal & Company LLC in the matter and SCAT has issued a coupon with an expiration date of April 2, 2008 allowing the members of the Class Action Suit to receive 20% off "Racers Net Price" for future purchases from SCAT. The upshot of this action? Cranks and rods, possibly from China, were passed off as being of U.S. orgin, Scat gets more business from the 20% coupons and Rosenthal, the legal team, collects approximately $100,000 in fees/costs.
